New England Invents (NEI), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing support and guidance to independent inventors. With a legacy dating back to 1977 as the Inventors Association of New England, we take pride in being the oldest organization in the country committed to empowering innovators like you.

Our commitment lies in fostering inclusive innovation. We aim to increase access to inventor education, patent ownership, and product commercialization for all, promoting diversity in the field. As of 2023, statistics show that less than 2% of independent inventors ever monetize their issued patents, and representation in patent ownership remains strikingly low, with only 13% of patent holders in the U.S. being women and less than 7% representing minorities.

NEI seeks to make a positive, impactful change in these numbers. Through our monthly seminars, in-person networking events, and one-on-one consulting and product pitch sessions, we aim to drive inclusive innovation. Our vision is to make product innovation and development accessible to all independent inventors, especially those in underserved communities, regardless of educational background.
